Roofer Safety Harness
When working at height, its important you have the correct height safety equipment. A roof safety harness and other related height safety equipment is used for working at heights. Generally, the roofing harness is connected to a flexible lanyard or harness rope, with a roof worker safety shock absorber which is then connected to a temporary or permanent anchor point or static line system.
The lanyard should always restrict falls to less than two metres and the roof anchor must be positioned extremely carefully to avoid any risk of a longer fall, swing down or pendulum effect (where the worker is at risk of kitting the ground)
An alternative to lanyards are inertia reels also known as retractable lanyards. These work like a seatbelt. The user can descend gradually in controlled manner but if there is a sudden movement it will lock to arrest the fall.
