Ladder Access Bracket | Explainer video | Safe Ladder Access & Use ANKAme
Using a safety ladder access bracket and ladders are great for simple, temporary roof access. But it’s important to assess for risk and take measures to reduce the danger of a fall or injury.
This can be done by following this simple working at heights checklist.
- The ladder must have non slip feet.
- It must be secured at top and bottom, extending one metre above the roof line.
- The ladder must be placed on a flat surface with a safe landing area.
- Leave good clearance between any metal ladder and electrical wires.
- Ladders must not have a slope greater than 4 to 1.
- Users must have three points of contact at all times when on the ladder.
- Never climb a ladder while carrying tools or other materials.
- Only use a ladder for access or egress of a roof, never as a work platform.
