Roof anchor products should be tested by an independent testing body, NATA accredited for testing roof anchor points to AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 – ( current standard of compliance to refer to 2020 )
If something looks unsafe, don’t risk your safety
Ensure roof anchor products come with compliance TEST report signed by an engineer that show they actually comply to AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 15Kn ( approximately 1.5 tonnes of load – in direction of a fall )
Avoid products that don’t align to roof screw patterns and profiles – that leave you with additional holes in roof sheeting
Avoid roof anchors that are not surface mounted to tops of roof sheet ribs, because they can create leaks
Avoid products that don’t come with specified fastenings and don’t come with user guides or installation instructions
Remember Stainless steel is NOT compatible with direct contact to Colourbond roof sheeting
